Most Expensive Doughnuts

Jenn Abelson reports in this morning’s Boston Globe:

Citizens Bank has opened the first ever full-service branch inside a Dunkin’ Donuts shop so consumers can have a one-stop shop for their banking and bakery needs.

I guess my wallet does usually feel a little thin after ordering doughnuts there…

An effect amplified by a simultaneous increase in your personal thickness.

There’s so little reason to go into a bank anymore. ATMs and on-line banking cover most routine transactions. I suspect most people would rather get their money from the ATM than to write a check, bring it to the teller, etc. However, perhaps Dunkin’ Donuts habitues are not like “most people” (thicker?), distrusting ATMs, preferring a little chat with their banking.

As Grandpa Simpson said to the grocery store cashier in Homer & Apu:

Ah, there’s an interesting story behind this nickel. In 1957, I remember it was, I got up in the morning and made myself a piece of toast. I set the toaster to three: medium brown.
