It’s a well known fact the the circle with a “U” inside means a food product is kosher. And it’s a little known fact that a circle with a “BU” inside means the food is “Boston University” kosher.
The standards for Boston University kosher are not the same as for plain kosher. For example, I happen to know the beer and peanuts served at Cheers™ are kosher, but not BU kosher.
So that frequently asked question is really asking “is there BU kosher food at Hillel?”
